Letter: The price of hunting

A short note to Mr. Parks and Wildlife Executive Director Bob Broscheid and board chairman Chris Castilian:

Resident elk tag, $49. Resident deer tag, $34.

From where I stand, those Colorado Parks and Wildlife employees are all driving really nice, new trucks and eating at Rib City.

Yeah, I know they don’t buy those trucks with their own money. I hunt elk and have since 1960, and as everyone knows, we have more elk now than in the 1960s.

We need a rate hike like we need a hole in the head. I’m about done hunting, so keep upping the rate. Those hunters from Louisiana will still come.
