Letter: Bridge approval was illegal
Good point that Dick Prosence brought up in Sunday’s paper: What Cater did was illegal. Don’t think that his decision was without assurance that it wouldn’t be challenged. Who really delivered the goods/means to forgo an EA for the new SH82 bridge in Glenwood Springs?
In 1953, Warren Gardner replaced the 1890s von Rosenburg Grand Avenue Bridge in 360 days, according to the feature article last week. Well it was more straightforward.
The replacement of the present bridge befuddles logic. It could be replaced seamlessly if a bypass was built first. I will put $1,000 toward a challenge of the EA, not so much as for the need of a new bridge, but for the folly of its sequencing with the bypass.
