Letter: Crown Mountain Recreation District election is May 6

Voters in the Crown Mountain Recreation District should be aware that there is an election coming up for members of the district board from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 6. Katie Schwoerer is running to represent the more than 70 percent of voters who want the park to remain a lovely park rather than building a huge, expensive recreation center.

Crown Mountain has failed to offer a mail-in ballot to voters and thus one must either vote at the Recreation District’s office by the dog park at Crown Mountain Park or apply for an absentee ballot by calling Katheryne at 963-6030. The failure to provide mail-in ballots is another in an ongoing series of Crown Mountain actions to disenfranchise voters.

The Recreation District is desperate for leadership change and greater transparency. Please take the time to vote for Katie Schwoerer for Crown Mountain board.
