LETTER: Fleming running for re-election as Silt trustee

My name is Bryan Fleming and I am running for re-election to the Board of Trustees in Silt.

Over the last four years I believe great things have been accomplished but there is more that needs to be done. With the announcement from Encana in December that they would be “idling rigs this year,” the revenues from gas drilling the town relied on heavily in the past will be reduced. No municipality can rely on one business to support its General Fund, which is why it is so important the next board continue to promote the town of Silt as an excellent place to do business.

This is a focus of mine. I am, and I believe my voting record proves, pro-business. When I was elected four years ago the town had a projected budget deficit of $276,000; four years later we have a General Fund balance of $1.8 million. Now I can’t claim this accomplishment all to myself, but I proudly say I was part of that work.

As a trustee I believe I have proven myself to be a consistent leader, fiscally responsible with taxpayers dollars, pro-business, and a strong supporter of individual rights. With your help I look forward to continuing my service to the town. I humbly ask for your vote.
