LETTER: Glenwood litter is getting out of hand

Littering in downtown Glenwood is getting out of hand. I am a smoker and I was disgusted last Sunday when I picked up about 50 cigarette butts (no joke) in front of a local business on Grand Avenue. Here’s the real kicker, those butts were all in the same five-foot stretch between a cigarette urn (where you should dispose of your butts to avoid fires) and a trash can! That’s ridiculous, we live in a beautiful place, please take care of it! In downtown there are literally two trash cans on every block. There is no reason why people can’t hold onto their trash for 30 seconds. In short, respect your community, your neighbors and your environment. Stop butting around and dispose of your trash properly.
