Letter: Guest opinion was bullying
As I started to read the guest opinion from Mr. Gary Wockner (concerning the reintroduction of wolves into Colorado) the first thing that hit me was a very straightforward attempt to portray any opponent of his views as a jihadist. The whole conversation ended right there for me. He frames his argument in a manner that anybody that disagrees must be siding with demons. That, to me, is bullying.
As a fourth-generation Colorado native, and having known several fourth- and fifth-generation ranchers, to group them into the class of jihadists that is currently and historically known for killing children, burning women and beheading anyone that gets in their way is nothing more than a simple and crass attempt to bully anyone that does not share his opinion.
I think it is time for the Post Independent to stop accepting such drivel and try your best to replace it with factual information. We can have discussions; however, we do not need screaming activists that have to start their arguments by demonizing the people that don’t share their views regardless of the argument.
Maybe when you get a Ph.D. from certain schools the fine print gives you the right to call people names, but I think your readers deserve more respect.
