Letter: Ideas for the confluence
As cool as it is to have a beautiful park at the confluence of the Roaring Fork and the Colorado, part and parcel of this “wet dream” is to allow for future access up the valley. That has to be hard-wired into negotiations with UP and RFTA. They will be more obliging and amenable if there is a practical angle involved.
If you want to be really indulgent, check to see if a small dam could be built just below the confluence that could sport kayaks and increase the safety of small children and encourage fishermen and Sunday row boaters.
