Letter: Ingraham genuinely cares for others
Jim Ingraham has had a significant impact on my career as a young female professional. Early on in my career, I felt like I didn’t belong as a woman in my profession. Jim was the first person that made me feel important, that my voice mattered. In some ways, he taught me that not fitting in or fitting the mold was one of my best assets. He taught me to never apologize for who I was but to embrace who I was. He saw potential in me that others looked past either because of my gender or other characteristics that were considered different. He spent countless hours with a young professional to provide advice not only on my career but how to live a fulfilling life filled with family and joy.
Many in our firm tell stories about the advice and mentoring they received from Jim. While the advice was tailored for each of us, the theme was the same: He is a man that genuinely cares about the people around him — he wants to see them grow and thrive. I know that Jim will make an outstanding City Council member as his genuine care for others, along with his extensive life experience and knowledge, is unmatched. I consider myself lucky to have had such a great mentor in my journey.
