Letter: Just who’s endangered?

I read with disgust about the two oil field companies that were fined $14,800 for their role in fatally exposing one of their employees to toxic gas.

First is the issue that they were found by OSHA to be responsible for the death of someone’s father, son, brother and community member. Second, the shared fine by two companies is petty cash for oil companies.

This should make it clear to our county commissioners and oil/ gas supporters that if these big companies can get away with the death of an employee, what else can they be exempt from? Contaminating our drinking water and air, fracking in our neighborhoods and killing off endangered species … oh, wait a minute. We are the endangered species here.
