Letter: Kudos to RFTA

We have recently taken advantage of the BRT transportation to Aspen and back to Glenwood Springs, and wish to express our pleasure with this service. The whole process is so easy, from trip planning using the easy-to-read online schedules, the friendly drivers, the front bike racks (which we use a lot), and, especially, to the on-time service.

This service is really handy for us “honored citizens,” as it is free for those over the age of 65. We teach the AARP Smart Driving Course. One very sensitive topic is when is it time to give up the keys. No one wants to give up their independence of driving their own car. But physical aging will eventually make that a necessity.

Our message is that you have to have a plan, and to test it before you need it. We are fortunate in the valley to have such a great community service. We encourage everyone to give RFTA a try.
