Letter: New Castle Lions Club Thanksgiving Dinner was fabulous

Once again, Larry Borgard and his 40 members of the New Castle Lions Club brought our community together for a fabulous Thanksgiving dinner. His team provided over 350 complimentary meals to our town.

This is the season to count our blessings and be thankful for what we have, and a season of sharing. Not only are we thankful for the New Castle Lions Club, but all of the other volunteer organizations in our town. The Lions do so much for our valley, especially when it comes to health, and eye care. Several of their volunteers tonight, owe their new eyesight to this organization. Our town is so special when it comes to volunteers, and sharing. On behalf of the New Castle Cub Scouts, Pack 221, thanks to all of you for donating over 3 pounds of food per household, in one day, in our recent “Scouting for Food Drive”. That’s over 4,000 pounds of food for those that are down and out but have hope. Happy Thanksgiving, New Castle, and I hope you are as thankful as I am to live in this great sharing community.
