Praise for Glenwood Adventure Park

Only a few things will trigger my 4-year-old son to jump in excitement. The Ninja Turtles on television is one of them.

Recently I attended the Adventure Park Cavern in Glenwood Springs for the first time and brought my kid along for the ride.

I was in disbelief to see how happily my 4-year-old reacted when we reached the park. As he jumped up and down, he grabbed my hand and pull me away toward the crowd while demanding I walk faster, then he pointed to the Soaring Eagle zip line. He used the word “cool” to describe the ride. He was as happy as one 4-year-old can be.

Favorably for us, my son was the 42-inch required minimum height to board the zip line. It was a father-and-son adventure on the Soaring Eagle.

Our favorite feature was the King’s Row Cave Tour. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and passed down some cool facts on the formation of caves, and the chemistry factors that impact the shape and colors of the magnificent rooms underground.

My most memorable moment was when my kid asked if the cave was actually Batman’s Batcave. I couldn’t stop laughing.

Why do I think Glenwood Springs was voted a top 10 small town in 2014, or most fun town in America in 2011 by USA Today?

It’s simple, nothing beats having access to an Adventure Park in your own back yard. The park delivered more excitement that I could of hope for, and thanks to the park, I myself feel like a kid all over again. Can’t wait to come back in the summer.
