Letter: Sharing a poem about Colorado
I wanted to submit a poem that my elderly mother recently wrote. She used to write a column in the Glenwood Post in the late ’70s and early ’80s titled “Kathy’s Corner.” Her name then was Kathy Yajko — now Kathy Love.
COLORADO HIGH
Have you ever stopped to wonder
How fortunate you are
To live among the mountains
That rise above so far …
To watch the trees sway in the breeze,
And see the birds fly by,
Their beauty and serenity
Brings forth a peaceful sigh
The Colorado mountains
Will never cease to be
Their majestic beauty continues on
For all of us to see!
