Letter: That’s just a lot of pie

The Valley View Hospital Auxiliary’s amazing volunteers give to our community by serving in our hospital, and when asked, they help the auxiliary in other ways, too. This year they baked a record 134 pies for Pie Day; that’s over 800 slices of pie. Another 28 men and women helped set up, serve pie and clean up. Doug Britten did a wonderful job playing the piano while our guests ate pie and visited. Thank you, auxiliary volunteers!

All the auxiliary’s earnings go to medical-related education via the Connie Delaney Medical Library and scholarships. In behalf of the auxiliary and those who benefit from its work, we are grateful for everyone who contributed to make Pie Day a success, especially those community members and welcome visitors who bought pie and made generous donations. Thank you, fellow pie lovers!
