Letter: Uneven city tree policy

I fully agree with Sheila Markowitz that the “policy” regarding trees and tree trimming has changed over the years, and I am unsure who changes that because it seems very erratic and inconsistent and certainly not made public.

I live on Grand Avenue and several times have had the conversation with the city that ultimately led to trimming all the trees along Grand at least three times at the city expense. These trees are on the city easement and are fairly brittle. They require care. There is no logical case that can be made whereby the citizens are responsible for trees in the city easement. This is clearly the responsibility of the city — no ifs, ands or buts.
