Letter: Veterans eligible for local care

A new program approximately six months old allows veterans to receive local health services.

My doctor is now at Grand River Hospital. I am seeing a cardiologist at Valley View Hospital instead of Salt Lake City.

The program allows disabled veterans who live more than 40 miles from a VA hospital to receive local health care, including prescriptions, hearing, glasses, etc.

Although most veterans will be notified, I’m concerned about our homeless veterans.

It’s called the Veterans Choice Card. For information or to sign up, call 1-866-606-8198.
