Letter: Why support thrill killers?
Some years ago I awoke in the middle of the night to the distress cries of a doe deer.
I rushed outside and found a group of coyotes ripping the rump and pulling the intestines out of a still-living doe. If this deer could thank me she would appreciate the bullet to the head that ended her misery and terror.
Somehow it seems illogical to me that the self-appointed animal lovers have such a passion to bring back the wolves.
Why do they care more about the killers than the victims?
Predators don’t just kill to eat. They also are thrill killers.
Consider the bear in my chicken house. He left 65 dead hens, not counting the ones he ate.
Have you ever watched your cat cripple a bird or chipmunk and then continue to play with it?
Years ago there were 300-plus deer in my fields at night. Now I see four or five.
Using the logic of the pro-wolf people, maybe we should find cities and towns that are peaceful and introduce evil gangs into them to balance the culture. If gangs of wolves improve nature by eliminating the weak, sick and incompetent, maybe that would work for people.
Wait a minute, that sounds like Hitler.
I vote for the fawns, rabbits and all vegetarians.
I wonder what wolf tastes like.
