Burning Mountain Festival a success

The town of New Castle would like to thank all of the sponsors and participants of this year’s Burning Mountain Festival. This year’s Festival was one of the ways we enjoy bringing our community together to celebrate New Castle. The afternoon started with a performances by John Noel, Rich Ganson and Jeff Sauer, followed by the Ralph Dinosaur Band. Saturday was off to great start with Lions Club pancake breakfast, parade down Main Street, John Hendricks singing the National Anthem and Pyro’s Dedication Ceremony. The bands that played on Saturday were Smuggler Mountain Boys and Lever Action.

We greatly appreciate our sponsors this year who helped make this event a huge success: Presenting Sponsors Alpine Bank, SGM, Two Rivers Productions and Mr. T’s True Value Hardware Store; our Silver Level sponsors: New Castle Liquors, Garfield & Hecht, P.C., Mountain Chevrolet, Network Interiors, Spirits of New Castle and All Current Electric. A huge thank-you to Village Inn for donating the pies for the pie eating contest. Donations from Book Train, Carquest, Dodson Engineered Products, Glenwood Hot Springs, Hogback Pizza, Iron Mountain Hot Springs, O’Reilly Auto Parts, Thor’s Grill, Suarez Masonry, Tractor Supply, Wendy’s and Yampah Spa, were all greatly appreciated. Another huge thank-you goes out to David Crabtree, for heading up the Classic Car show.

We look forward to next year’s Burning Mountain Festival, encouraged by the success of this year’s event and the people who participated or donated to it.

Thank you,
