Brickell fundraiser helps GSHS wrestling program

Thank you Glenwood Springs and the Roaring Fork Valley. As the 2015-16 GSHS wrestling season gets under way, we wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your support and donations to the Cody Brickell Memorial Miniature Golf Fundraiser in September. We raised around $5,000, which will be spent on travel, scholarships, uniforms and equipment. It would be almost impossible to run this program without your assistance. Competition and winning in the sport of wrestling has been very evident in the GSHS wrestling program over the years, but the main purpose of the GSHS wrestling program is to use the sport of wrestling as a vehicle to teach young men and women about the virtues needed to succeed in life. Your support helps make this happen. It was so good and comforting to see so many familiar faces from the past members of the “wrestling family” and current ones, as well. For those of you that came and played miniature golf, it sure made for a fun, family-oriented day. The owners of Johnson Park were very gracious in allowing the wrestling team to use their facility for this fundraiser. What a wonderful community we live in, and thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
