KAFM appreciates support
KAFM Community Radio would like to take this opportunity to thank you, the media, for your support and coverage at our 2016 Gallery 88.1 Art Interplay and Auction. The only way events are a success is largely due to getting the word out. Thanks to you, KAFM sold 51 works of art, had over 90 participants during the auction, and hundreds of people coming through to see what talent we have in this valley. We were also able to put $8,000 back into the art community while still raising funds to continue on as the Grand Valley’s only community radio. Your support, professionalism, kindness, and above all dedication to the Grand Valley has not gone un-noticed.
A great Stars of Tomorrow
Recently we celebrated the 49th anniversary of our first Stars of Tomorrow program at the Jeannie Miller Auditorium.
Once again it showed a tremendous amount of young talent. Our small valley has an extremely talented core of kids and supportive parents. On behalf of the Glenwood Springs Kiwanis Club, we offer a sincere thank-you to many people: the Post Independent for its continued support; KMTS for additional resources; including a great emcee, Ron Milhorn; and Kate McRaith who provided very timely sound advice and a tremendous drama team.
I’d like to also thank all of the Key Clubbers, as well as Kiwanian volunteers, our sponsors, and the rest of our community for their tremendous support.
Next year will be the 50th anniversary of our first show and we can’t wait to have you come back.

Swelled with pride at concert
We would like to thank the Post Independent and Glenwood Springs High School for making March 15’s United States Army Field Band & Soldiers’ Chorus concert possible. It was an event of outstanding music and love of country, especially needed in the climate of our current election process.
It is not too much to say that from the beginning I had goosebumps, later there were tears in my eyes, and all the time my heart swelled with pride for America. Congratulations to the local vocalists and instrumentalists who were selected to perform with these superb musicians, a great local touch. And thank you to the United States Army for sharing your talents with us and for keeping us safe.
God bless America.
