Letter: Willman has experience, dedication and energy

We are writing to voice our support for Charlie Willman, a candidate for Glenwood Springs City Council in Ward 3.

We have known Charlie for more than 30 years and believe he has the experience, dedication and energy to devote to this important position. Charlie has served on many city boards and commissions, including chairing the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) and sitting on the Financial Advisory Board and Transportation Committee. His volunteer leadership gives him the valuable historic perspective and knowledge needed when it comes to complicated decisions involving city budgets, infrastructure and the downtown heart of our community.

In addition to this, Charlie has served as Glenwood Springs City Attorney and has a wealth of legal expertise. He listens to people and helps work out reasonable solutions. His experience as a private practice attorney and also as a mediator would be invaluable in reaching practical solutions with diverse constituents.

When it comes to community, Charlie has demonstrated his dedication to young people by leading seven Glenwood Springs High School teams to mock trial championships. He has also helped drive important city initiatives as a valued member of Community on the Move for more than 20 years.

Our community is at a critical juncture and there are many decisions to be made regarding infrastructure, transportation and the development of Sixth Street and the confluence. We need someone with proven leadership and fact-based knowledge to help with these important decisions.

We believe Charlie’s experience, commitment and professionalism are important to City Council. Please cast your vote for Charlie Willman, Ward 3.
