Letter: Wissing for council

We are writing in full support of Amber Wissing for City Council in south Glenwood (Ward 5). The four of us had the pleasure of working very closely with Amber during Roaring Fork Leadership’s class of 2016 civic project. Amber continually demonstrated tremendous energy and inspired confidence within the team. We could always count on Amber’s honesty, leadership skills and ability to develop faith in her team members.

Roaring Fork Leadership is a substantial time commitment, but Amber still found the time and energy to develop Project PACK, or Provide A Crisis Kit, with a few close friends. Amber saw the need within Garfield County to create this crisis kit program for kids who are forced to leave home due to violent or neglectful situations. Often, they cannot bring any of their own things with them, which can make a bad situation even worse. Amber believes strongly in the spirit of our community, and is passionate about Glenwood Springs and its residents.

We believe the community can count on Amber to lead change, inspire her neighbors, and empower others.
