Letter: Wissing is the one
This letter is in support of Amber Wissing for Glenwood Springs City Council. As a friend and member of her founding nonprofit, Project PACK, I have worked side by side with Amber and am confident that she is the right candidate for the job.
Amber’s contributions to her community are irreplaceable. She is a leader, an initiator, a go-getter and a doer.
Amber is the founder of Project PACK, which stands for “Providing a Crisis Kit,” providing basic essentials for kids in crisis until they could place them in a safe environment. She saw a need in our communities and single-handedly decided to do something about it.
Through founding Project PACK, Amber was able to listen to the needs in our community, develop an action plan and get things done. She was able to work collaboratively with a variety of businesses, law enforcement, nonprofit organizations and social services to fill the needs of our community’s children.
She is an office manager for a local dentist and initiates creative programming to not only promote this business, but support the community of Glenwood Springs by developing and running numerous programs to help our troops, local children and people less fortunate.
Amber has also been an active volunteer involved in many local organizations that are close to her heart, proving that local involvement makes a stronger community.
Amber is constantly striving to improve herself — as demonstrated by being a part of the Roaring Fork Leadership class of 2016 — her community and the people living in it. She has a deep commitment and love for Glenwood Springs.
Her vision, leadership and accomplishments have been transformative for our local businesses, nonprofits and the people of Glenwood Springs. Get out and vote Amber Wissing for City Council representing Ward 5.
