Letter: Wissing’s the one

Are you still undecided in Ward 5? If so, I encourage you to vote for Amber Wissing. I have known Amber her entire life. She was a childhood friend of my daughter, my exemplary student in high school, and my husband’s employee for many years. I agreed to be Amber’s campaign manager because I know our city and I know what we need for leadership in Ward 5.

I have personally gone to every single home in Ward 5 with Amber during this campaign and written down the concerns of her neighbors. She has earnestly tried to meet every single one of you. (Half naked guy who doesn’t vote was a shock but most of you are really great.) I am rock solid certain that Amber is the best choice. Here’s why.

Of all three Ward 5 candidates:
Only Amber has the lifelong experience of knowing Glenwood from childhood through motherhood. It’s in her DNA to want her children to grow up in the fabulous hometown that we all enjoy and want to protect.

Only Amber is actually running a successful business and understands bottom-line issues, frugality and investing in the future on a daily basis.

Only Amber has committed the time as a young professional to develop her leadership skills through the Roaring Fork Leadership program.

Only Amber has seen needs in Glenwood and has independently stepped up to implement solutions. Outstanding examples include her concern for children in crisis through her founding of Project PACK and her charitable leadership through Brighter Smiles, Brighter Futures.

Only Amber has willingly involved herself with Ward 5 issues by serving on her HOA board for eight years. She knows Ward 5 like the back of her hand and shares her constituents’ concerns and dreams for the south side.

It’s no wonder Glenwood’s leaders support her. They want the very best for Glenwood too. As a community leader myself, it is obvious to me that Amber will serve all of us well.
