Up to some goodThese rough looking members of ABATE of Colorado District 22 haven’t been living up to the bad-boy biker image lately. Actually, they’ve done just the opposite: ABATE recently presented a check for $2,573 to the Advocate Safehouse Project. ABATE is a nonprofit organization dedicated to motorcycle rider education, training and the preservation of motorcycle rights. The bikers raised the money during a pledge run on Aug. 28. Siebert-Markuson weddingJim and Cathy Markuson announce the marriage of their son Jeremy to Joy Siebert. Joy and Jeremy were married Aug. 14 in the garden at the Aspen Chapel. The couple honeymooned in Cabo before returning to Fort Collins, where both graduated from Colorado State University. Joy is gainfully employed and Jeremy is pursing a graduate degree in conservation biology and restoration ecology. Kennedy retiresDeborah Kennedy is retiring from Roaring Fork School District Re-1. In her 25 years as an educator, Deborah taught physical education, second grade, reading, and worked in media services. Friends of Deborah’s are holding a retirement party for her from 4-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, at the Village Smithy in Carbondale. Deborah is a fun-lover and good-hearted, so feel free to dress up in the Halloween spirit. Information: Deb, 384-5678; Julie, 384-5680.Moving on upSteven Enewold, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee R. Enewold, of Glenwood Springs, was promoted to rear admiral (upper-two-star) in the U.S. Navy. Gordon England, secretary of the Navy, presented Enewold with the promotion at a ceremony in Washington D.C. Enewold is the program executive officer for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter.
