GSHS graduates in Denver run to conquer leukemiaOn Sept. 26 Candace Avery, Greg Carlson, Simon Stachnik and Luke Sturges, all Glenwood Springs High School graduates living in Denver, ran 13.1 miles in the Boulder Backroads half-marathon as members of Team in Training for the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Leukemia Society. Each member raised $1,500 for the Leukemia Society. The fund-raising hit close to home, as Greg Carlson is a six-year survivor of leukemia. Congratulations on a job well done!Family Preparedness FairThe Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints held a Family Preparedness Fair on Oct. 8. Following many potluck casseroles and desserts made from food storage items, participants were invited to learn how to better prepare for potential disasters or personal misfortune. They learned about 72-hour emergency kits, checking blood pressure, food storage, child ID DNA kits and even how to live within a reasonable family budget. Recent marriagesT.J.
