BATTLEMENT MESA - Bill Barrett Corporation, Plains Exploration and Production Company, and EnCana Oil & Gas (USA) Inc. recently collaborated to present the Silt Police Department with contributions totaling $26,000 to update and improve the police department's enforcement tools and equipment. Bill Barrett Corporation, Plains Exploration and Production Company, and EnCana Oil & Gas (USA), Inc. recently collaborated to present the Silt Police Department with contributions totaling $26,000. These funds will be used to update and improve current equipment and supply Silt police officers with the tools needed to do their job in a safe and effective manner. All three operators have drilling operations in the Silt area and are pleased to partner with the Silt community to support safer roads and traffic.

Rich and Nicole Hills of Rifle are pleased to announce the birth of their daughter, Jayden Nicole Hills, at 12:04 a.m. Dec. 16, 2007, at Valley View Hospital. She weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces and was 19 and 1/4 inches long at birth. Proud grandparents are Greg and Laureen Puetz of Wyndmere, N.D., and Rich and Kathy Hills of Wahpeton, ND.; great-grandparents are Donald Puetz of Wahpeton, and Katie Bertelsen of Fairmount, N.D.
