Boy Scout Troop 225 leaders and boys from Glenwood Springs would like to give Snowmass Ski area a huge thank-you. The troop had a downright awesome day on the slopes, with a great overnight camp out at Up For Pizza on the top of the mountain.The staff was wonderful to work with, from the guys driving the buses, to everyone at Up For Pizza, Lund and Randy. Our snowcat driver, Bret and Jim Ward from the Aspen Skiing Co. who had us all set up for a great and successful outing! Thanks also to the Snowmass Police Department for allowing us to park in the rodeo lot overnight. Thank you all. You are all awesome. Boy Scout Troop #225
The Tang Soo Do karate test is a demonstration of attitude, discipline, control, focus, balance, speed and power.Brian Mable Karate School tested 10 students Feb. 29. The testing board consisted of chief instructor Mr. Brian Mable and instructors Mr. Dave Kluge, Mr. Ken Newton, Ms. Milada Lee and Ms. Pam Whittington. Eight students from the school successfully passed to their 11th gup gold belts: Maya Erickson, Corey Erickson, Garyian Milligan, Cassidy Milligan, AJ Crowley, Kaylee Smith, Erica Diemoz and Carl Wright.Zack Loter passed to his first gup red belt; his next advancement in rank will be to his black belt. Alex Henderson passed to his second gup red belt.Congratulations to all for their success in demonstrating the skills required of them.
Ryan Bolitho and Stacia Szaro will be married Oct. 26, 2008, in Narragansett, R.I. Ryan is the son of Scott and Carolee Bolitho of New Castle. Stacia is the daughter of Scott and Pam Szaro of Delray Beach, Fla. Ryan and Stacia met in San Diego while working for Invisible Children, a nonprofit organization.Ryan, a 2003 graduate of Glenwood Springs High School, is currently employed at Glenwood Insurance Agency.Stacia is currently pursuing a degree in communications from Southeastern University. After completion of her degree in June, they will reside in New Castle.

Shawn and Christina Sullivan of Silt are pleased to announce the birth of their daughter, Sophia Eve Sullivan, at 10:39 p.m. Feb. 14, 2008, at Valley View Hospital. She weighed 8 pounds, 3.5 ounces and was 21.5 inches long at birth.
