Jacob Ziemann, of Glenwood Springs, has graduated from Pomona College May 18, 2008, with a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy, politics and economics, with a concentration in economics. While a student at Pomona, Ziemann won the Brystine Prize for best underclassman student research paper in economics, The Donald Gould Entrepreneurial Prize in Economics and The Mary Ford Bacon Prize in Economics, for his research on the U.S. mortgage crisis. He will join Morgan Stanley, San Francisco, in their investment banking and global capital markets analyst training program. Ziemann is the son of Thomas and Jill Ziemann of Glenwood Springs. He is a 2004 graduate of Glenwood Springs High School.
Erin Burke, of Glenwood Springs, received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Colorado School of Law May 10, 2008. Erin is a 2000 graduate of Glenwood Springs High School. She received a bachelors of arts in English from the University of Colorado in 2004. Erin is the daughter of Wes and Judy Burke of Glenwood Springs.
Michael Apostle and Sara Lavochkin of Glenwood Springs are pleased to announce the birth of their daughter, Isabel Louise Apostle, at 10:32 a.m. June 4, 2008. She weighed 6 pounds, 15 ounces, and was 19 inches long at birth.Big sister Alison, 3 1/2 years old, is thrilled to be a big sister.Proud grandparents are Marcia and Ron Lavochkin of Bow, New Hampshire, and Cathy Apostle of Edina, Minnesota.
Patrick Connor Kramer made the Colorado School of Mines Deans List during both semesters his freshman year.He was one of four valedictorians in the Glenwood Springs High School class of 2007. Although Mines was challenging academically, he and his four GSHS classmates did very well, attributing their success to fantastic GSHS teachers who prepared them for the rigors of a tough engineering school. Many thanks to GSHSs finest the teachers.His parents are Scott and Trish Kramer of Glenwood Springs. You Rock, Packy!
Juan Vigil, a fifth-grader next fall at Glenwood Springs Elementary School, was the lucky winner of the Walk and Roll Wednesdays. He won the raffle for a mountain bike from New Century Transportation.
Jason and Ginger Cordova of Silt are pleased to announce the birth of their son, Jacob Jason Cordova, at 3:37 a.m. June 2, 2008, at Valley View Hospital. He weighed 7 pounds, 10 ounces, and was 20 inches long at birth.Proud grandparents are David Cordova and Debbie Cordova of Pueblo, and Jeanette Lacey of Belleview, Ohio.
