The food drive held at last Saturdays Glenwood Springs High School semifinal football game amassed 48 boxes of food for LIFT-UPs area food pantries. At an estimated 25 pounds per box, approximately 1,200 pounds of food was collected. LIFT-UP wishes to thank everyone involved with the food drive, and all who contributed food for neighbors in need. Requests for assistance at LIFT-UPs five area food pantries are up 40 percent in recent months due to the troubled economy. LIFT-UP congratulates the Demons on a great season, and wishes them the best in Saturdays state championship game.

Mary and Chris Lehrman of Glenwood Springs are excited to announce the birth of their son, Wade Franklin Lehrman, at 4:08 a.m. Oct. 5, 2008. He weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces, and was 20.25 inches long at birth. Proud grandparents are Martin and Alice Lancaster of Cary, N.C., and Ron and Jan Lehrman of Loon Lake, Wash.

Ginger and Chaz Mattson of Highlands Ranch are pleased to announce the birth of their son, Zachary Rush Mattson, at 2:08 p.m. Nov. 17, 2008, at Sky Ridge Medical Center in Highlands Ranch. He weighed 8 pounds, 13 ounces, and was 21 inches long at birth.Proud grandparents are Marc and Joan Adler of Glenwood Springs, and Maxine Mattson of Colorado Springs.
