Debbie Smith and daughter Gina began the New Year by donating their long hair to the Locks of Love organization.Locks of Love is a public nonprofit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the U.S. and Canada under age 18 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis.Val Snearly, owner of Hair Fair in Glenwood Springs, donated her time and shop to this charitable service.Debbie and family were from Freeman, Mo., visiting grandparents Dale and Dorothy Snearly, and enjoyed the fabulous skiing at Sunlight Mountain.

Matt and Elisha Harvey of Rifle are pleased to announce the births of their twin daughters, Eva Marie and Sophia Elizabeth Harvey, born at 8:40 a.m. and 9:08 a.m., respectively, Nov. 6, 2008, at Valley View Hospital. Eva Marie weighed 4 pounds, 5 ounces, and Sophia Elizabeth weighed 4 pounds, 15 ounces, at birth.Proud grandparents are Georgia and Larry Scarbrough of Gypsum, Chris and Becky Harvey of Rifle and Janice and Ed Fuller of Silt.

Mandy Landrey and Michael Warren of Battlement Mesa are proud to announce the birth of their daughter, London Rayne Warren, at 8:05 a.m. Dec. 20, 2008. She weighed 6 pounds, 14 ounces, and was 19.5 inches long at birth. Proud sisters are Mckenna and Quiana. Grandparents are Rick and Penny Landrey of Glenwood Springs and Brenda and Randy Bowen of Battlement Mesa.

Josh Rice and Sarah Evans of Denver, formerly of Glenwood Springs, are pleased to announce the birth of their son, Tate Samuel Rice, born at 5:16 a.m. Dec. 1, 2008, at the Mountain Midwifery in Denver. He weighed 7 pounds, 12 ounces, and was 19 inches long at birth.Proud grandparents are Claire Evans of Denver, Bill Evans of Denver, and Steven and Susan Rice of Glenwood Springs.
