Students shadowed a legislator for the day and gleaned real-life experience about state legislation. Gifted and Talented students applied through Rifle Middle School to be accepted. A total of 19 students applied, and nine of those students were paired with a member of the Colorado State Senate or House of Representatives. The field trip was funded by Alpine Bank, The Rifle Community Foundation and the Rifle Rotary Club.
