John and Renee Langstaff of Rifle are pleased to announce the birth of their daughter, Pearl Danae Langstaff, at 7:48 a.m. March 21, 2009, at Valley View Hospital. She weighed 6 pounds, 4 ounces, and was 19 1/2 inches long at birth.Her big brother is John Wayne Langstaff, 1 1/2 years old.Proud grandparents are Raymond and Elaine Langstaff of Rifle and Steve and Danae Morris of New Castle.

Madeline Proctor, daughter of Mark Proctor and Dawn Netupsky of Rifle, an eighth grader at Rifle Middle School, submitted a poem to a contest for young poets. Madelines poem was selected from thousands of entries as one of the top ten in her grade division. Poems were selected for their literary merit, creativity, and social significance.

Lloyd and Cara Pittman of Carbondale are pleased to announce the birth of their son, Nathan Donald Pittman, at 11:38 p.m. March 19, 2009, at Aspen Valley Hospital. He weighed 5 pounds, 14 ounces and was 18-3/4 inches long at birth. He was welcomed home by his proud brother, Chantry West, 17, and sister Cheyenne Rodriguez, 18. He is the grandson of Donald and Barbara Smith of Roosevelt, Utah, and Richard and Lynda Pittman of Grand Junction.

Josu and Cheyenne Rodriguez of Glenwood Springs are pleased to announce the birth of their son, Josh Kian Rodriguez, at 2:56 p.m. March 19, 2009, at Valley View Hospital. He weighed 6 pounds, 13 ounces and was 20 inches long at birth.Proud grandparents are Lloyd and Cara Pittman of Carbondale and Alicia and Filemon Rodriguez of Glenwood Springs.
