Amber and Jimmy Jackson are the proud parents of Ella Maria Jackson, who was born at Valley View Hospital on July 29, 2009.Ella was born at 8:44 a.m. and was 8 pounds, 1 ounce, and 201⁄2 inches long.She joins big sister Kaitlyn, 7, and 3-year-old big brother Bryce.Ella’s grandparents are Toni Kuretich of Silt, Kenneth Ard, who is now deceased, Arlen Jackson of New Castle and Delfina Jackson of Tucson, Ariz.Ella also proudly joins her aunt Tia Blanca, uncle Rich and cousins Jazmin and Jayce, and her uncle Keenan.Great-grandparent is June Kuretich of Glenwood.The family wants to thank the staff at Valley View Hospital birthplace for a wonderful experience.

James Meraz and Janaye Anderson of New Castle recently welcomed home a new baby boy, Evan James Meraz.Evan was born at Valley View Hospital on Aug. 8, 2009, weighed 8 pounds, 14 ounces, and was 21 inches long.Evan has two siblings, Cole Anderson, 9, and Jaycie Anderson, 8.Grandparents are Ed and Linda Saueressig of Silt, Elaine Meraz of Roy, Utah, and Blas Meraz of Delta.

Cody Hillin, a 2004 graduate of Glenwood Springs High School, recently began medical school at Baylor College of Medicine-Houston after receiving his master’s in biomedical engineering from the University of Rochester -Rochester, N.Y. Cody is pictured at Baylor College of Medicine’s White Coat ceremony for the class of 2013 (his sister Jessica Hillin, a 2002 Bridges High School grad, is standing next to him).
