Mother’s Day Happenings

Enjoy Mother’s Day Brunch at Rivers Restaurant from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 11. Call 928-8813 for reservations.

The Mother’s Day Quilt show will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 10; and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 11, at the historic Hotel Colorado.

The quilt show is sponsored by two local quilt guilds: Needle and I of Carbondale, and Quilters of the Rockies of Glenwood Springs. The featured quilter is B. Anne Greene, a member of both quilt guilds who has been quilting since 1978.

The theme of this year’s challenge quilt was “Seasons of the Desert.”

There is a small entrance fee, and children will be admitted free.

The Mother’s Day Mile race begins at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 11, at the Glenwood Medical Associates parking lot. Registration and information can be found at; or in the lobby of Glenwood Medical Associates, 1830 Blake St., Glenwood Springs.

New this year will be handmade race awards from the women of the Imani Workshop of Eldoret, Kenya.
