Carbondale freeskiers hit CBS

Three of Carbondale’s hottest new-school skiers will be featured in a segment on CBS News’ “The Early Show” on Wednesday morning. Peter, Michael and Megan Olenick will be the focus for a story on how freeriding (or jibbing, if you will) has caught on in a huge way at ski hills across the country. A CBS crew followed the Olenicks during a weekend of ski competition at the US Freeskiing Open, held recently in Vail. Peter had won silver and bronze medals the week before at the X-Games in Aspen. The trio’s segment is scheduled to air at 7:40 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 25.
