Dupper earns health care Medal of Honor

Larry Dupper recently received the prestigious Founders Medal of Honor from the Colorado Chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA). The chief financial officer at Valley View Hospital, Dupper earned the award for his service to the HFMA organization. He is a Fellow in the HFMA, a member of the Colorado chapter board of directors, chairman of the certification committee and past president of the Missouri chapter.

The HFMA is an organization of more than 32,000 members, 469 strong in Colorado. Dupper was nominated for the honor by the Colorado chapter board of directors. A native of Colorado, he and his family have lived in Glenwood Springs for the past five years.



Basalt artist’s talent recognized

Basalt artist Marylou Felton has been racking up awards lately.



Felton won an Honorable Mention for her painting, “Innocence,” in The Pastel Journal’s Pastel 100 competition. Felton’s name also appeared in The Artist’s Magazine’s December issue for placing in the top 250 out of more than 14,000 entries in the magazine’s 2003 contest.

Felton’s work can be seen at The National Mining Museum Gallery in Leadville and at The Museum of Outdoor Arts/Englewood Arts National Juried Art Show in Englewood until April 1.

Winter baby

Joseph Douglas Winters was born Feb. 13, 2004, at 7:30 p.m. to Doug and Chrissy Winters of Rifle.

He came in at 8 pounds, 3 ounces and was 22 inches long. Rick and Jean Kohler of Rifle, Thomas Winters of Craig, and Sue Winters of Loveland are his new grandparents.
