Katy Rose Eason of Basalt Middle School recently won $275 and the opportunity to have her photo displayed on Earthbeat Choir’s 2004 Summer Music Camps T-shirt. Second place and $137.50 went to Cheyene Johnson of Carbondale Middle School, and third place and $68.75 went to Theresa Gerdin of Basalt Middle School.

Russell Gredig, a Bridges High School sophomore, recently presented the paper “Eureka! Archimedes Amazes Us Once Again” at a regional meeting of the Mathematical Association of America at Colorado College in Colorado Springs.

Gredig discussed the Stomachion puzzle, part of a new branch of geometry called combinatorics. Gredig is under the instruction of Bridges math teacher George Austin-Martin.



Donna Michelle (Missy) Burkett and Mark Anderson, both of Silt, were married in a private ring ceremony May 11. Burkett and Anderson are planning a honeymoon through Colorado and Wyoming
