Orthopaedic Associates of Aspen and Glenwood is pleased to announce Dr. William Clancy has been named a 2004 recipient of the United States Sports Academy’s Distinguished Service Award. Dr. Clancy is a world renowned orthopaedic surgeon and inventor of the ACL reconstruction procedure.

Dr. Clancy, who joined Orthopaedic Associates of Aspen and Glenwood in August 2004, is considered by many of his peers worldwide as a leading expert in sport medicine injuries.

Dr. Clancy has 37 years of experience as an orthopaedic physician and 30 years as a professor of orthopaedic surgery. His achievements include serving as an orthopaedic physician for the 1980 Olympic Hockey team, serving as medical director for the U.S. Ski Team Nordic Jumping, U.S. Hockey team, co-medical director for the PGA and LPGA tours, authoring more than 120 medical journal publications, presenting nearly 400 workshops on knee ligament and sports injuries, and serving as professor of orthopaedic surgery with the universities of Wisconsin, Alabama and Virginia.

As a physician at Orthopaedic Associates of Aspen and Glenwood, Dr. Clancy specializes in sports medicine, trauma, arthroscopy and knee reconstructions.
