Glenwood Springs Pack 225 Cub Scouts second annual Raingutter Regatta was held at St. Stephens School on Jan. 22. The Cub Scouts make wooden sail boats and race them in rain gutters filled with water by blowing through straws into the sails. The theme this year was pirates.

Lisa Marie Finkle and Phillip James Peterson were united in marriage in an evening ceremony Oct. 2, 2004, at Stonebrook Manor in Thornton. Lisa is the daughter of Jim and Nancy Finkle, of Parachute, and Phillip is the son of Jim and Kathy Peterson, of Highlands Ranch. The couple honeymooned in Kauai. The newlyweds now reside in Denver, where Lisa works for the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, and Phill works for National Jewish Hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Frederic Viehe, of Olive Branch, Miss., announce the engagement of their daughter, Carolyn Ann Viehe, to Richard Marshall Thayer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Marshall Thayer, of Athens, Ala. The couple will exchange vows April 9, 2005, at Paris-Yates Chapel in Oxford, Miss., followed by a reception at the Oxford Conference Center.Carolyn is the granddaughter of Mrs. Robert William Viehe and the late Dr. Robert William Viehe, of Glenwood Springs, and the late Charles Clifton Vaughn and Claudine Allen Vaughn, of Denver. Carolyn is a 1997 graduate of Enid High School in Enid, Okla., and a 2001 cum laude graduate of the University of Oklahoma, where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. In December 2004, she received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Mississippi School of Law. Richard Thayer is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard Louis Thayer, of Hope, Ind., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Rudolph Frierson Sr., of Birmingham, Ala. Richard is a 1994 graduate of Austin High School in Decatur, Ala., and a 1998 graduate of Birmingham Southern College, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 2003 and is an attorney with the Mississippi law firm of Brunini, Grantham, Grower & Hewes.
