Jim Stevens, of Canyon Creek, writes, “On June 24, 1995, Gabriela and I exchanged vows at the Canyon Creek schoolhouse, with my father officiating.

“Over 10 years of life’s highs and lows, I care for her more each day. She challenges me on multiple levels, is a great partner, and has the most amazing sparkling eyes.

“Gabriela has given me so much laughter, support and devotion. Not a day has passed that we have not told each other ‘I love you.’ On this special occasion, I wanted to put it in writing.”

Ryan Graff, of Glenwood Springs, took fourth place in the sport kayak division of the world-class FIBArk Whitewater Festival held June 18-19 in Salida. It was the first time he had participated in a kayak competition.

Eric and Shanley Mangeot, of Glenwood Springs, are pleased to announce the birth of their son Avner Thomas Mangeot on May 13, 2005, at Valley View Hospital. He weighed 6 pounds, 91⁄2 ounces, and was 191⁄2 inches long at birth.

His big brother is Owen David, who is 2 years old. His proud grandparents are Penny and Chuck Donelan, of Glenwood Springs, and Frank and Marie Mangeot, of West Cliff.

Gabrielle Devenish, of Glenwood Springs, turns 24 Friday. Happy birthday, Gabrielle!

The Roaring Fork Conservancy announces Rick Lofaro has been selected as the new executive director of the organization.

The Conservancy was founded in November 1996 as an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring people to explore, value, and protect the Roaring Fork watershed.

Daniel and Bridget Bauman, of Glenwood Springs, are pleased to announce the birth of their baby girl, Abigale Louise, at 12:12 p.m. on March 28, 2005, at Valley View Hospital. She weighed 6 pounds, 5 ounces, and was 17 inches long.

Proud grandparents are Thurman and Mitzi Bishop, of Bloomfield, N.M., and Ray and Donna Bauman, of Marble.
