Austin Hangs, of the Rifle chapter of the Future Farmers of America, was the state winner for the Poultry Production-Entrepreneurship/Placement Proficiency Award at the state FFA convention in June in Fort Morgan. State winners advance to the competition for national honors.

National finalists will be named in late July, and will compete for top honors in Louisville, Ky., in late October.

Austin is the son of Alan and Tammy Hangs, of Silt, and will be a senior at Rifle High School in the fall. Good luck, Austin!
