On Aug. 7, 33 members of the Roaring Fork Women’s Triathlon Team completed the Tri For The Cure Triathlon in Denver.

The triathlon consisted of a half-mile open water swim, a 12.5-mile bike ride, and a 5K run. Proceeds of the race benefited the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. More than 1,700 women overall participated in the second-annual event at Cherry Creek Reservoir near Denver.

The Roaring Fork women are part of a local summer triathlon training group under coaches Nancy Reinisch and Judy Haynes. Members range in age from 17 to 62, from Rifle to Carbondale.



Charles and Burley Taylor of Silt are pleased to announce the birth of their son, Tryke Anakin Taylor, at 5:33 p.m. May 28, 2005. He weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces and was 20 inches long at birth.

Grandparents are Paul and Susan Taylor of Silt, and Donald and Diana Anderson of Glenwood Springs.



Brandon and Cameron Pyle, of Pueblo, are happy to announce the birth of their daughter, Faith Ann Marie Pyle, on June 29, 2005. Faith Ann weighed 8 pounds and was 20 1⁄2 inches long at birth.

Proud paternal grandparents are Brad and Susanne Pyle, of Battlement Mesa, and proud maternal grandparents are Lance and Pam Allee, of Carbondale.
