Theresa Hoffmeister and Armondo Rivera are pleased to announce the birth of their son, Armondo Phillip Rivera III, born 8:11 a.m. July 6, 2005. He weighed 6 pounds, 4 ounces and was 1812 inches long at birth.His big brother and sister are Marcus and Amethyst.Proud grandparents are Harold and Deanna Hoffmeister, of Silt, and Armondo and Loretta Rivera, of Denver.

Four artists from the Glenwood Springs Art Guild were recognized at the Alpine Artist Holiday in Ouray recently.Ann Kurtz took first place and an honorable mention in the Mixed Media category; Arlene Law claimed an honorable mention in Mixed Media; Sally Thompson won an honorable mention in the Watercolor category; and Evelyn Koules took honorable mention in the Pastel category.

William and Elizabeth Gonzalez, of Paterson, N.J., and Robert and Gale Classen, of Glenwood Springs, are pleased to announce the engagement of their children, Seth Classen and Gigi Gonzalez.Gigi works for Colorado Mountain News Media Classifieds Department and Colorado Mosquito Control, and Seth is employed by The Drawing Board.The couple became engaged Saturday, Aug. 6, in a hot air balloon floating over Aspen.
