On Saturday, Nov. 12, Boy Scouts from Troop 225 helped to recycle bags of gravel from the flood zone on Mitchell Creek to be used at another location for landscaping. While recycling the gravel and cleaning up one person’s yard, they were also earning money towards the 2007 Boy Scout World Jamboree in London, England. The scouts’ next fundraiser will be at Wal-Mart on Saturday, Dec. 3, selling Christmas wreaths. Stop by and help them out by purchasing a Christmas wreath for your family or business. These scouts are always open to more projects to help fund their way to Jamboree. If you have a project in mind, please contact John Beckius at 945-5024 or jbeckius@comcast.netThese young men will be working on fundraisers during the next two years to earn their way to the 100th anniversary of Scouting in Hylands Park, just outside London and only 45 minutes from the origin of Boy Scouting. This Jamboree will bring together more than 40,000 scouts, leaders, and staff for 12 days from all over the world.
