Jasmine VantHoff, 12, was the fastest female skier in the 13-and-under category at the Need for Speed contest Sunday, Feb. 5, at Sunlight Mountain Resort. This is her fifth year in a row earning this honor.Despite snowy conditions, she still managed to top out at 55 mph.Jasmine is the daughter of Adrian and Karen VantHoff, of Glenwood Springs, and is a seventh-grader at Glenwood Springs Middle School.

Jason and Kristina Zwickl, of Rifle, are pleased to announce the birth of their son, Carter Lee Zwickl, at 3:21 a.m. on Oct. 6, 2005, at Valley View Hospital. He weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounces, and was 20 inches long at birth.Proud grandparents are Bruce and JoAnn Bosworth, of Colorado Springs, and Dennis and Michelle Zwickl, of Glenwood Springs. Great-grandparents are Lee and Wilma Morgan, of Rifle, Jack Roe, of Syracuse, N.Y., and Betty Zwickl, of Mesa, Ariz.
