Royal Eugene Perkins married Eugenia (Gena) Lucille Putnam April 27, 1941, in Portis, Kan.Royal is a retired farmer and mechanic, and Gena is a homemaker and artist. They are former residents of Rifle, New Castle and Glenwood Springs, and currently live in Buhler, Kan.Their children – Melvin and Phyllis Perkins of Glenwood Springs, Calvin and Dee Simmons of Rifle, and Doug and Shelley Whisler of Hutchinson, Kan. – six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren wish them a very happy anniversary.Cards can be sent to Royal and Gena Perkins, 425 West Ave. B #4, Buhler, KS 67522.

Mike and Debby Sutherland of New Castle and Pam Baca of Montrose and Bob Baca of Olathe are pleased to announce the engagement of their children, Nicole Sutherland and Mic Baca of New Castle.Mic and Nicole became engaged Oct. 10, 2005, and will be married Saturday, July 1, 2006.Nicole is a cosmetologist at Sanctuary Spa, and Mic is a structural engineer at Pattillo Associates.
