Boy Scouts Jacob Morgan (L) and Lane Turley (R) recently competed in the Western Colorado Pinewood Derby race. Jacob placed second in the Tiger Cub Division and Lane placed third.

Jessica and Troy Kurth, of New Castle, are pleased to announce the birth of their daughter, Shyana Jean Kurth, at 9:21 p.m. April 4, 2006, at Valley View Hospital. She weighed 8 pounds, 9.5 ounces and was 20 inches long at birth.Her big brother is Tyler Kurth, age 11.Proud grandparents are Janice Jones, of Silt; Iona Kurth, of Imperial, Neb.; and Barbara and Josef Heck, of Wheatridge.
