Cherene Vanian graduated from Colorado State University in May, with a bachelor of science degree in interior design, with emphasis on sustainability, and a minor in Spanish. She is currently employed at the Institute for the Built Environment in Fort Collins.Cherene is the daughter of Jennifer Vanian of Glenwood Springs and Mark Vanian of Glenwood Springs. She graduated from Glenwood Springs High School in 2001.

New Castle Mayor Frank Breslin participated in Burning Mountain Bowl’s Celebrity Bartender Benefit for league bowlers with cancer, Doug Meyers and Ben Russell. The event raised $400 in tips during the June 15th Happy Hour at Burning Mountain Bowl in New Castle.
