The Roaring Fork Women’s Triathlon Team posed for a photo following the Strawberry Shortcut Race on June 18. The race served as a benchmark event for the team as they train to complete the Tri For The Cure Triathlon in Denver in August. The 2006 team consists of more than 40 members who are coached by Nancy Reinisch and Judy Haynes.

U.S. Army Pvt. Tyler Phillips, son of Ellen Phillips, of New Castle, graduated from Fort Knox Training Camp, Ky., where he finished Army Individual Training. He has qualified to go on to the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Benning Army Post in South Carolina.Tyler graduated from Glenwood Springs High School in 2005.
